MAY 12th -- ST. GEORGE'S, BERMUDA

FYI -- Temperature is:  75°F/24°C 🌤😁

Bermuda lies in the North Atlantic, 570 miles off the coast of North Carolina, the nearest land mass.

Views coming into port.  It was really beautiful.

Once docked, this is the view from our balcony.
We are welcomed into port by a guy dressed like Paul Revere and ringing a bell.

OH-YAY, OH-YAY, OH-YAY!!!!

He said...
"Oh-yay, Oh-yay, Oh-yay!  To the Regent Seven Seas Navigator... Welcome!!"
It was pretty cool.

Look at the colour of the water...

Looking for a taxi.

Off the ship and into the sunshine...what a great day.

We do not have an excursion today but are heading off the ship on our own.  Barry was in Bermuda 50 (!!!!) years ago with Ron & Mabel Dalton and they stayed at the Elbow Beach Surf Club.  Barry wants to revisit Elbow Beach today.  Alas, the Elbow Beach Surf Club is long gone and now it is called the Elbow Beach Resort.  So that is where we are headed.

It is about a 30-minute drive from the port to Elbow Beach and the scenery is fabulous.
The hotel is old but so beautiful.  They let us wander through the hotel and there was a gentleman, working there, who remembers the Elbow Beach Surf Club.  He and Barry had a nice conversation.

Sitting on the front porch

We went down to the beach (they drove us down in a golf cart) and had a coffee and watched the water.  Beautiful.

From there, we took another taxi into Hamilton.  It's Sunday, so a lot of the stores are not open.  We walked around and window shopped.
We stopped for a snack and an adult beverage...nachos & beer!  It was delicious.

The view from Flanagan's balcony

We seem to gravitate to Irish bars!
Carlsberg on draft!
We get back to the ship around 1:30 PM.

We are overnight in Bermuda.
So, tonight on the ship, they are having a "Truck Stop Diner" BBQ on the Pool Deck.  Tables will be set up outside and the food will be All-American comfort food.  There will also be music and dancing.  Here we go again!
It is a casual event so we can wear our jeans, if we want.

We packed our bags this afternoon and with all the "shlepping", we were too tired to clean up, change our clothes and party.  Nope, not tonight.

Beautiful picture of the sun setting.

We had a quiet night in our room and watched "The Matrix" on TV.
