APR.15th -- CRUISING THE RED SEA...STILL

We slept in this morning until 9:00!!

There is a "White Elephant Auction" at 9:45 AM and it is a fundraiser for the Crew Welfare Fund which makes the onboard crew's time more enjoyable, rewarding & fun. There are unique Regent experiences and memorabilia being auctioned off.

Waiting to start...

All kinds of things are being auctioned..for example:  Seven Seas Navigator World Cruise Flag, a Pub Night, being a guest bartender in the lounge of your choice, learn how to make steak tartar (table side) and lunch with 6 other friends (it's for 8) and on & on...there are 12 - 14 auction items.  Barry's comment to me upon entering was "Don't bid on anything".
OK...so, Barry bid on and won the "Goodfella's Pub Night" with Terry (Bishop) and Clive (Carrington)...both Brits & I believe the dinner is fish & chips.  It should be fun.  When the date is set, I'll let you know all about it.

Following the auction is Terry Bishop's lecture.  It is called "Petra -- A Rose-Red City -- Half As Old As Time."
We have excursions to Petra once we get to Jordan.  Barry & I are not going as the excursions are 9-hours or 13-hours, a lot of walking and very strenuous,  so we won't be going.  I took pictures of Terry's pictures to include here.  The very first one might look familiar as it was in the 3rd installment of the Indiana Jones stories (with Harrison Ford).

Pretty fantastic, right?

We will be seeing the city of Aqaba while in Jordan.

Tonight we are having dinner with 10 other world cruisers from Canada.  The dinner is called "Canada, eh" and the menu is going to be totally Canadian.  I don't know what that means ... when you say Canadian food all I can think of is maple syrup, Poutine and Canadian bacon.  So, we'll see.

OK...so it wasn't a totally Canadian dinner.

Label says: Canadian Montreal Valley 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon

With each course there is a Canadian element added.  For the appetizer course we were all given a mini Tourtière with ketchup; with the entrees we ordered, they served Poutine (french fries with gravy and cheese curds)...
So, a Beaver Tail without the toppings...it's like a flattened donut!

...and dessert was Moose Milk with Beaver Tails...Beaver Tails were served with maple syrup, whipped cream and toasted pecans.  Hardly any calories in dinner at all!!!
Here is the group of Canadians, eh --

So, that's it.
A wonderful evening full of laughs.
Another sea-day tomorrow.
