APR.21st -- SUEZ CANAL TRANSIT, DAY 2

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!🐇🐇🐣🐥
This is probably the only day it is expected, and actually acceptable, to eat chocolate for breakfast!!

I love this joke...Happy Easter.
We wake up at 7:00 this morning and take a look outside.  We see that our ship is in a queue...waiting for our turn to enter the Suez Canal.  The Suez Canal spans 120 miles and is about 160 years old...construction began in 1859.

Our view from our balcony...everyone's waiting.

It is chilly today...I'm guessing it's about 65°F/18°C .

We head downstairs for breakfast...it's Sunday so that means it is Champagne & Caviar day.
As it's Easter Sunday and we haven't done it in quite a while, we both have Champagne & caviar to start.  Then... and this is very decadent...we both ordered Pancakes!!!!  I couldn't remember the last time I had pancakes.
Anyway, Barry got blueberry pancakes with sausage and I got toasted pecan pancakes with bacon.
OMG...were they ever good.

At 9:00 AM we start through the Suez Canal and Barry & I watched this while we have our breakfast.  Awesome.

After breakfast, we waddle back to our cabin to sit on the balcony and watch the whole process.

Barry checking everything out.

Around 1:30 PM we move to the back of the boat, take our books and watch as everything unfolds. We spend the better part of the afternoon just watching the ship's progress and reading.

We get ready for dinner and head down to the Compass Rose and have Virginia Ham for dinner...ham at Easter.  Works for me.
We are in Ashdod, Israel tomorrow and have a very early start time for our excursion...6:50 AM.
And, we set our clocks ahead one hour tonight.
We'll have to sleep fast!

ADDED TO BLOG ON APR. 25th...

Barry & I both got a certificate for going through the Suez Canal.

This can be added to our certificates for crossing the Equator (twice) and also for crossing the International Date Line.
