FEB. 21st -- EN ROUTE TO DARWIN, AUSTRALIA

We are on our way to Darwin and have one more day at sea.

I decide to go to the Enrichment Lecture given by Terry Bishop.  Today's lecture is called "James Brooke -- The White Rajah of Sarawak".  It is from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
I enjoyed it...very interesting .
I decide to stay and watch a cooking demonstration at 11:15 AM.  The Chef is preparing Australian Fresh Barramundi and Seafood Pie.  Barramundi is a lot like Grouper.  I know, I won't be able to eat it but I thought I might pick up some  pointers.  The Chef made the preparation look easy and he had a great sense of humour.  When he was done, he sat down at the piano and played a classical song.  Great.

After that, I met Barry at the Compass Rose for lunch.
He had a quiet morning on the balcony watching the water.

We do not have anything planned tonight.
We head down to the Stars Lounge around 6:00 PM and sit at the bar.  We talked to a lot of people and got the names of some of the people we've seen on excursions, etc. but hadn't been introduced to.
Virgin Mary?  I don't think so!!

So, we talked to...

John & Jackie...checked into the Beverly-Wilshire in L.A. the same time we did -- we then saw them at Nate & Al's deli

Kim & Mike ... have been on a lot of the same excursions

Connie & Tony ... a lot of the same excursions, same bars same time.
Cute story -- On one of our excursions -- in Cairns -- while on the bus waiting for everyone to get back;
Barry asks everyone on the bus ❝Has anyone found they're drinking more since they got on the ship?❞
This caused an immediate response from just about everyone, however, Connie pops up from her seat and says ❝I've even started putting Amaretto in my coffee!❞
We all laughed...Connie wins!

We head off to dinner around 7:30.
Tried to get what the moon looked like...this sorta shows it.
We sit out on the balcony when we get back and there is a gorgeous full-moon shining across the water.  I took about 30 pictures trying to capture the look.  Above is the best I got, then I gave up and just enjoyed it.  Anyway.....Bella Luna!!
G'Night.

  1. Wow Darwin is pretty much as far north as you can go now. Will you be heading out of eye shot of the southern cross soon? I would love to see that for myself that's for sure.
The food is still sounding incredible, and I am sure the pairings are perfect too, hopefully you woon't come home looking forward to joining AA! Lol Have a great week, I will check in again soon!
