FEB. 1st--AT SEA EN ROUTE TO FIJI

We are up again this morning to watch the sunrise.  This is totally up to Barry to get us up, as I would sleep through every sunrise.

The moon & a star at dawn.
Dawn...the sun is just about to come up.

It is amazing this morning.  I will attach the pictures but the moon & a star were directly above where the sun was rising... I couldn't get it all together in one shot.
So, we have been on the ship approx. 1 month and all we have basically done is cruise to Australia via the entire South Pacific... Hawaiian Islands, Marquesas, Fakarava, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Tahiti, American Samoa, Samoa and Fiji (all the places we stopped and visited).   These islands were all very interesting and beautiful.  We learned a lot about their origins and their history.  Daily we are in awe of the vastness of the Pacific Ocean and we now have a much better understanding of how the Pacific ocean determines the weather for the rest of the world.

We have had the best food and service on this ship than anywhere else we have ever stayed.  There are more people employed on this ship than there are passengers.

The Butler is the key.  Everything we want, need or requires repairing goes through the butler.  We phone him for everything and he either does it or coordinates it to have it done.  He has a great sense of urgency and everything gets done immediately.

Laxme, our butler...Barry wants to take him home

They clean our room 5 times a day and always when we are not there.  They seem to know where we are at all times.  They shine my shoes, fold our clothes & put them on the bed and do our laundry once a week.
There is champagne, wine, beer & Crown Royal in our fridge at all times.  There is a full bucket of ice in the fridge at all the times.  They leave a fresh fruit bowl every day along with chocolates, mixed nuts and potato chips.  Our room is supplied with 6 - 1.5 litres of Fiji water.
We will never cruise with another cruise line ever.
The food is the best we have ever had.  There is no restaurant or hotel that we have been to that has as good a food as this ship.
The variety is amazing...all served with white tablecloths & napkins, fine china & silver cutlery and Reidel wine glasses.  Waiters & staff wear tuxedos.  There is no waiting for tables, no line-ups at the buffets and they never run out of anything.

So, we are having a sea day on our way to Fiji and we thought a recap of our trip after 30-days would be something to add.  Time is flying on the boat, we are still thrilled to be here and are having the time of our life.

We go to the Galileo Lounge for a pre-dinner glass of wine  as the Spanish-guitar guy is playing.  We meet up with & talk to Mark from Winnipeg...he is also on the world cruise.
Then, Barry & I, went to the Compass Rose for dinner.

We set the clocks back one hour tonight.

  2. I am so living vicariously through you! Smashing pic of the moon and single star. The southern constellations must be something amazing to look at at night. (Nope! Not jealous at all. So I keep telling myself)
Evelyn and Mike were by on Friday night if your ears were burning....you are missed.
Looking forward to your next post! Safe travels!
