It is called "Discover Noumea & the Aquarium". So, off we go.
We discovered today that 80% of Noumea's export is in nickel. They are the 3rd largest nickel exporters in the world, after Canada and Russia.
We went to the highest point again today and I took some more pictures as it was such a clear and bright day.

We saw "fluorescent coral"...it glowed in the dark and was really cool. We couldn't take any pictures in this room as it was pitch-black...you had to feel your way in.
In a huge tank we saw lots of sharks, stingrays, grouper fish, a seahorse...all very cool. However, when I was downloading my pictures I lost half of them (my error..!!!) so I don't have any pictures of this.
Anyway, it was all very fabulous.
We had dinner at the Compass Rose and met 2 more women from Canada....they're from Calgary, B.C. Their names are Audrey and Carol. They got on in Tahiti and this is the first time we've run into each other.
We go to the Stars Lounge before dinner and watch the boat leave port.
| Tata... Noumea! |
"Tata" is a more familiar and friendlier version of "au revoir"...and is more commonly used in Noumea, New Caledonia.
After dinner we decide to go to the show.
It is called "Tales & Tunes of a Troubadour"...starring Terry Bishop. It's a great show with comedy, songs and sing-alongs featuring songs of the Bee Gees!
The Bee Gees are originally from Brisbane, Australia, which is our next stop.
So, that's it for today.
Tata Baby!
