MAR. 13th -- HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM - DAY 2

FYI -- Today's temperature:  96°F/36°
It is day 68 of our world cruise.

We are still in Saigon. We have a short tour this morning called "Panoramic Saigon" and it leaves at 8:00 AM.

Traffic in the city -- Yikes!
The first thing I want to comment on is the traffic.  Cars, scooters, motorcycles and buses and it seems like complete chaos!  I could not drive in this city.

The area of the city called China Town

The Post Office

Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon

The Post Office and Notre-Dame Cathedral were right across the street from each other.  Our tour guide told us that both of these buildings were built by Gustave Eiffel (the guy who built the Eiffel Tower in Paris.).  I'm saying that is what he told us.  When I went to verify this on Google, I got different results!!  Anyway.

We were back to the boat by lunch time.

We are meeting the Hirschmann's tonight at 5:30 for cocktails and are having dinner at Prime 7.
Fancy dress night.

We have a wonderful dinner...Prime 7 is a steakhouse and their menu is fantastic.  It's hard to decide what to have.
We head to Galileo Lounge for an after-dinner drink and then call it a night.
Early evening...we sit out on the balcony for about a half-hour and that's it.
We have a sea-day tomorrow and are meeting Mike & Wendy for breakfast at 9:00 AM.

GOOD BYE VIETNAM!
Good-bye Vietnam!

  2. Nice blog! I really appreciated after reading. Basically, this blog is talking about I showed you the highlights of last month's trip to Vietnam bringing documenting the humanitarian work of NGO.But a few months ago I went to my friend’s house and suddenly he told me about Vietnam tour then I am feeling shocked. Then I also asked about Vietnam tour so he told me Vietnam was one of the best visiting places in the world because in Vietnam we can enjoy a lot of way like cycling, bike riding, swimming etc. Also in Vietnam, we can saw a number of beautiful things like big and beautiful mountain, sea, a pond that filled with beautiful duck and swan.

  3. Vietnam was one of the best visiting places in the world. The trip was intensive: each day, we had to get up very early in the morning and we traveled a long distance. Cycling in Mai Chau was very attractive. Visit....
