MAR. 20th -- SINGAPORE

We arrive in Singapore at 7:00 AM.

FYI -- Temperature is:  92°F/33°C

We meet Mike & Wendy for coffee and then at about 8:15 AM we head off the ship.  We get into the ship terminal and they find their luggage, we go through immigration and then we look for a taxi.  This is relatively easy to do as drivers are standing all over the place.

We have a 20-minute drive into the city and the Hirschmann's hotel.  They are staying in Singapore today and tomorrow and leave late tomorrow evening ... approx. 1:15 AM.
So, we drop off their bags and head to the nearest Pandora store for Marian & Wendy to get their Pandora charms.  One little glitch...the stores don't open until 10:00 AM.  So, the guys sit down and have a coffee and Wendy & I window shop until the stores open.  We get a nice walk in while we are doing this.
We get our charms...I get a monkey for Thailand and a white orchid for Singapore (it is their flower).

Next, to see the city, we get ticket for the "Hop On Hop Off" bus.  These are very cool...they have 4 or 5 different routes and go by all the sights.  You can get off and explore and then wait for the next bus to get back on and continue on.  There are headsets to plug in, pick the language of you choice (English) and away you go.  They describe each place as we pass.
We did the city tour and got off at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel.  We thought it would be very cool to see the city from the top of one of the towers and have lunch up there.

We go up to the 56th floor to the Italian Restaurant and get a table.  We then walk around the terrace on the outside of the restaurant.  The panoramic view is breath-taking.

So, after lunch, we leave the Hirschmann's behind.  Waaaaaaaaa!

Bye, Bye!!!

We're gone.

We had so much fun.
I am exhausted.

In the taxi back to the port, we decided that we loved Singapore.  It is so clean and pristine.
We head back to the ship and it is very, very busy.  There are a lot of people getting on board.  As Barry and I got back on board, we were greeted by some crew members and offered a glass of champagne.  We said no thanks and I said to Barry that is probably the first time I have ever said "No" to a glass of champagne.

We staying in our cabin and ordered Room Service.  Barry wanted braised celery but alas it wasn't on the menu.
We both had a salad, watched a movie and went to bed.

  1. Glad you had an enjoyable time with Wendy and Mike. I can't wait to see your bracelet when you get back! Marion I'm not surprised, you turned down the champagne, I am shocked! Lol
Looking forward to hearing about your next adventure! Take care!
