MAR. 17th -- LAEM CHABANG, DAY 2 & ST. PATRICK'S DAY

☘☘☘IT'S ST. PATRICK'S DAY☘☘☘

It is also Sunday and that means it is "Champagne & Caviar" for brunch day.🥂🥂
We meet Mike & Wendy in the Compass Rose for breakfast.  We all have the Champagne & caviar followed by Eggs Benedict.  The "Breakfast of Champions"!

Our caviar & champagne breakfast

We do not have a tour today and have opted to stay on the boat.  We are waiting for our clothes to be delivered.  We find out that the boat is leaving today at 5:00 PM and not 6:00 PM (like we told the tailor) so we have his representative, at the desk, call him and ask him to deliver our order a half-hour earlier...so, 3:30 instead of 4:00 PM.

So for the rest of the afternoon, we watch the boat get decorated and pretty much just hung around.

While we wait, a cranberry & soda.

At 3:30 we got off the boat and wait in the parking lot for our delivery.  The Rep...I going to call her Rita...is waiting outside with us.
Waiting for the delivery
Once we are outside, she advises us that it may be closer to 4:00 PM as the traffic is bad (due to the election in the city).  At 4:00, Rita says that the driver, with our clothes, is about 10-minutes away.
At 4:10, she says "It appears as if he is still 10 - 20 minutes away.
Now we panic!
The ship leaves at 5:00 PM and all-aboard is at 4:30 PM.
At 4:30 there is still nothing and we have to get on-board.  Rita promises to return our money or take the clothes to our next port, Ko Samui.
Of course, we do not believe anything she tells us.
We are extremely disappointed and we head to our cabins to change for the evening.
Mike & Wendy's room is on the same level and the gangplank.
Mike happens to look out his window and sees Rita waving at him and holding up one finger.  With that the van comes whipping into the parking lot.  Mike runs out to the gangplank and a ship employee -- Nicki, the General Manager -- rushes down the ramp, which is just being removed, grabs our clothes and leaps back onto the ramp and into the boat
Talk about a "shit-show"... however, Nicki is our hero and also Hirsch, for looking out the window and seeing Rita.
At this point Barry & I still think our clothes "have missed the boat".
We get our green on for the evening and Barry is ready ahead of me.  So, he goes to the Galileo Lounge to meet the Hirschmann's.
Wendy is holding my jacket

When I arrive, about 10-minutes later, I walk in and the 3 of them are grinning at me and Barry is holding up my beautiful red jacket.
From shit to sugar just like that.  Everything is wonderful.
Guiness in hand.
We have a Bushmills & a Guiness and toast our delivery and also St. Patrick's!!!

At 6:00 PM there is a St. Patrick's Show starring Terry Bishop...it's comedy, songs and Sing-a-longs from Ireland.  We go to it, dressed in our greens and it is a hoot.

"Terry's Load of Old Blarney"

We have corned beef & cabbage for dinner.
That's it...what a day.

When we're back in our cabin, we try on our clothes...
The Hirschmann's clothes fit great.
However, Barry's shirt is too tight -- Marian's jacket, well, sleeves are too short, length is wrong and the fasteners (buttons) were not as ordered & one breaks on the first wearing.
Very disappointing.
