JAN. 13th -- HILO, HAWAII

Aloha!

Our excursion today is by Culinary Home Tours Hawaii, it is a Hawaiian Brunch/Lunch that is being done in a progressive style.  We are going to 3 different locations for each course of food we have.

The first location is a private home that was built in the late 1800’s.  It is a beautiful old house with a terrific view and we had "breakfast-y" food on the wrap-around porch.

First stop...need coffee!!

We were served Banana-Macadamia Nut bread, Espresso-Chocolate bread, Lavender Beignet, fried Polish sausage, Guava juice and wonderful Hawaiian Kona coffee. Lovely.

The second location is a bed & breakfast with an astonishing view.  Here we ate on the porch and had "lunch-y foods".

Gorgeous view
Property is for sale...just $3.2 M
Lunch on the porch.

They served us Papaya stuffed with Chicken Macadamia Nut Salad, green salad with pineapple, fried wontons and a sesame ginger vinaigrette.  We sat and talked with our lunch companions and it was very restful.

Finally, for the third location, we went to another private home on the top of a hill and the panoramic views were breath-taking.

Fresh Hawaiian Pineapple -- Yum!
They served dessert here.  We had Tropical Coconut Macaroons, Hawaiian Sweet Bread Pudding, Passionfruit (called "Liliko'i" in Hawaiian) Mousse and fresh pineapple & fresh apple-bananas.

Lisa, the owner of the company, gave us all a small cookbook with all the recipes she made for our lunch today.  What a great souvenir.
So, we had a 5-hour brunch.  WOW!

This is our 4th Hawaiian island and the end of our adventures here.

ALOHA!!!

Aloha.
