We arrived in Papeete (Tahiti) at 5:00 AM.
The island is pretty big -- I think it's bigger than Grand Cayman. There are Tahitian singers playing on the pier and they are dressed in native outfits. Barry does a dance with them.
We get off the boat early in search of a pharmacy. With minimal direction we find one that is open. We get some cold tabs, day & night, and we're good to go.
We do a little sightseeing and stop at an outside café for coffee.
The island is very "French".
After coffee we shop at several jewellery stores looking for a Pandora charm. We don't find any Pandora charms but find a Tahitian Black Pearl that I can add. The pearl is indicative of all the islands in the South Pacific.
We also walked through an open-air market and looked at the local crafts.

We then headed back to the ship.
We spend the rest of the day by the pool.
This is the end of one of the segments of our cruise so there a lot of people leaving the boat this morning and a "new" batch coming on board this afternoon.
Tonight they are having local entertainment come on board to entertain us in the theatre. It is called "O TAHIET E"...an award winning troupe. We'll probably go to see this.
So, I went to see the show and it was fabulous. Wonderful costumes and it was very high-energy. Glad I went.
Tomorrow is another small island...Rangiroa and we have a morning tour.
So, that's it.
Good night.

Sorry to hear that Barry isn't feeling well. Please tell him I hope it's only short lived. We celebrated with Jeff on the weekend for his birthday...we were talking about your trip too, so if your ears were burning, it was us! Lol
